My Story

I grew up in the 1980s on a traditional family farm in Wisconsin, where I built forts out of hay bales to hide with a book all afternoon. I read the entire Little House on the Prairie series the summer before third grade and dreamed of being an author, just like Laura Ingalls Wilder.

One afternoon, I attended a virtual writer's retreat that shaped my philosophy as an editor and content writer. My heart broke as I listened to a respected author fight back tears inflicted by her editor's markups. As she grasped for the strength to continue, I vowed that every client I work with will be encouraged, inspired, and empowered from our time together.

My heart broke as I listened to a respected author fight back tears inflicted by her editor's markups. I began the gradual transition out of corporate America in 2022 and quit my job to use my words for Jesus full time in March 2023. I've learned the writer’s life is not for the faint of heart. It takes discipline, humility, compassion, and perseverance. I'll spend the rest of my life learning, but there is nothing in this world I'd rather do than help you tell your story.

But that was pre-Google and moving to New York to pursue a starving artist's passion just wasn't practical. So, I spent most of the first twenty-five years of my working life in jobs that put food on the table and starved my soul. Meanwhile, I struggled with health issues until I reached a point where I just couldn't live like that anymore.

That's where I found Jesus. As I pursued Him, and followed His lead, I found my calling "to use my words for Jesus." I started writing for Candidly Christian and found my first editing job in 2017. I improved day by day as I read, studied, and learned from loving, generous mentors who poured their wisdom and experience into me.
